How judging works

How Judging Works

Four simple steps.

  1. 1

    Sign in with your invite

You'll receive a secure email invitation. Sign in and immediately see the categories assigned to you.

  2. 2

    Review Entries

    Watch every submission

All media plays directly in your browser, no downloads required. Anonymous participant judging keeps every evaluation fair and focused on the work.

  3. 3

    Evaluate

    Score and leave feedback

Every entry receives a Universal Performance Rubric score (1–10 rating) and written comments. Your feedback helps participants improve long after the contest ends.

  4. 4

    Rank Winners

    Fill the winner's podium

Once every entry in a category has been evaluated, drag your top entries onto the podium: first, second, third, or however many recognition slots the organizer has configured. Click Mark Judging Complete and you're finished.

Why It Works

Fair Evaluation Matters

Contest Engine separates scoring from ranking. First, evaluate every submission against the same standard, then rank the strongest work. This two-step process creates more consistent judging while letting you focus on one decision at a time.

Your Feedback Matters

Winning is exciting. Feedback is valuable forever. Every comment you leave helps participants become stronger storytellers, filmmakers, photographers, journalists, marketers, and creators. Many say the written feedback is the most valuable part of the experience.
